Shug by Jenny Han

Annemarie 'Shug' Wilcox, 12, proves there is nothing worse than being a teen. She is positive there is nothing good or amazing about herself, and when she enters junior high, the friends she knew her entire life act like complete strangers. She learns to cope with her changing life while learning about friendship, first loves, and self-worth in a small town in the South.
