Avalon High by Meg Cabot

Ellie's thrilled to meet Will, the star quarterback at her new school. Yet as she gets to know Will, she discovers some strange things about him, the school, and even herself. Ellie doesn't believe in deja vu, but she can't shake the feeling that somehow this has all happened before. The author of 'The Princess Diaries' presents a modern story with an Arthurian twist.

While not as sparkling as Cabot's Princess Diaries series, this is an ejoyable read. Ellie is a likeable character (as is Will!) and I really like her relationship with her parents. The parallels with Arthurian legends flow well without strain and I really liked the twist at the end. I really enjoyed the descriptions of the storm at the end. It's not my favorite book on the list this year, and it's not my favorite Meg Cabot book, but it was fun.

Avalon High has been spun off into a manga series.

Take a look at Meg Cabot's website.
